This is one of larger ports in the country and is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, the Branch having set up in 1957. This port is a deep water seaport and exports various special steels, ores, paper, agricultural extracts and handles imports of various commodities including pulses from time to time. This port has a large hinterland which includes exporters of granite and project engineering industries based in and around Coimbatore.
Our vision for this branch is to set up a project engineering inspection cell to work in close coordination with Calcutta Office for developing and attending to commercial inspections that may emanate from the region.
